Archbishop Bolly's visit

The Most Reverend Datuk Bolly Lapok, the fourth Archbishop of the Province of South East Asia in the Anglican Church, visited Christ the Redeemer on June 3, 2012. He participated in a question and answer session and celebrated Holy Eucharist. He was officially welcomed by ADNE Canons, Ross Kimball and Susan Skillen, who presented him with a gift.

His Grace came to the United States to attend the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA) College of Bishops meeting in North Carolina. He came to CTR because of our support for the Anglican Relief and Development Fund (ARDF). He attended a meeting of  ADRF with archbishops of provinces where ARDF has ongoing development projects. He also attended the Second Provincial Assembly of the ACNA.

ARDF is currently partnering with Five Talents International and the Myanmar Provincial Mother's Union in building a successful savings and loan program for female beneficiaries to develop income-generating enterprises to help support their families. Myanmar (Burma) is in the Province of Southeast Asia.

Here are some photos from Archbishop Bolly's visit at CTR (and at a restaurant):

When Archbishop Bolly was installed on February 12, 2012, he became one of the 38 Primates in the worldwide Anglican communion. His province includes some of the most persecuted members of the church worldwide. Here is a video of his installation (with music by Josh Groban):

You can read about his background and his installation in this article. The map points to where he served as Bishop of the Diocese of Kuching:
